TEE SE ITSE, POTKUPYÖRÄN TEKO vanhoista romuista
(DIY, KICKBIKE from old crap. English version below)

Piti ruveta sitte tekemään tälläinen isompi potkupyörä ku kattelin tuota pojan menoa tuolla pikku potkulaudalla. Jostai se taas ajatus pälkähti päähän ja menin sitte yks päivä ehottaan että tehdään semmonen isompi renkainen potkupyörä jos löytyy tarvikkeita...
No tottakai nuita vanhoja pyöränromuja oli tuolla vintillä.

Tämä pyörä oliki jo joutunu projektin uhriksi ja siitä oli leikkailtu rungostaki paloja. Vaimon sisko toi sen mökiltä jossa se oli ollut jo jokusen (kymmentä) vuotta käyttämättömänä 😊
Eihä sitä ennää mittää käyräsarvisia pyöriä näykkää tuolla luonnossa, eli loputki joutaa jo projektiin... Eipähä tarvi lähtä kaatopaikalle viemään 😅

VANHA PYÖRÄN RUNKO

Sitten oli tuo vanha potkulauta joka pikakorjattiin viime kesänä ku siitä meni takapää poikki.

RESU POTKULAUTA

Sitten löyty vanhoja renkaita jotka oli jo parhaat päivänsä nähnyt.
(Kummatkin tussuna ja toisesta löyty reikäkin)
Meisseleillä väännellään kumit pois vanteelta ja laitetaan ilmaa sitten renkaaseen. Helpompi paikantaa vuoto kun upottaa vesiastiaan. Eikai se tuo toinen rengas voinukkaa pitää ilmaa, ku oli korjattu jesarilla vuoto 😆
(Kumi hiotaan hiekkapaperilla, ja paikka päälle)
Kun paikka on kuivunut nii päälyrenkaan saa yleensä paikalleen käsin, mutta jos ei nii voi kyllä käyttää meisseleitä (varoo vaan ettei sisäkumi jää väliin)

RENKAAN PAIKKAUS

Poitsun kans yritettiin muka purkaa pyörää pulteista, mutta eihän siitä montaa osaa lähteny irti. Kaikki pultit niin ruosteessa ja jumissa että voimakeinoja oli käytettävä 😂
Rälläkkä käteen ja palasiksi.

RUNGON PALOITTELU

Sittenhän sitä runkoa piti vähän vahvistaa ettei mee heti poikki. Vanhasta penkin rungosta hitsasin tuen takarenkaan eteen ja ajattelin jättää mahdollisuuden lisätä putkeen vielä penkinkin jos poika haluaa (Ja yleensä haluaa 😆 )

TUEN HITSAUS

Pitihä se maalatakki, ja mustaa maalia löyty kaapista
(En ruvennu hiomaan sen kummemmin, ku oli niin "pika" projekti 😅

MAALAUS

Vanhasta potkulaudasta sai hyvän jalansijan ku vähä leikkaili.

JALKASIJA

Laitoin tämän sitten runkoon kiinni reikäraudalla ja pultilla.

JALKASIJAN KIINNITYS

Sarviin lisäsin vanhat scootterin tupet (Kaasu tuppeen joutu lisäämään vähän jesaria ku sehän on paljon isommalla reiällä)

Tähän asti pääsin ennenku loppu päivästä tunnit. Jarrut, lokarit ja seisontatuki jäi laittamatta... Pika projektipa hyvinki 😅

POTKUPYÖRÄ KESKEN

Poitsu kävi jopa koulussa tällä viikon.

TESTIT

Ykspäivä sitten huomasin että sillähä oli etukumi ihan tussu.
Koitin sitä pumpatakki, mutta sehä poksahti lopullisesti rikki
Sehä oli sitte kauppareissu

Uus tyhjä rengas löyty varastosta jossa oli parempi päälykumi.
Eihän nuo sisäkumet maksa ku noin 3€, ei kyllä kannata ruveta paikkaileen, mutta yleensä ei ehi kauppaan niin sillon paikkailen 😉
Viikonloppuna sitten vaihtelin uuden renkaan paikalleen ja leikkailin nuista vanhoista lokareista sopivat palat potkupyörään.

UUSI RENGAS JA LOKARIT

Vanhaa jalustinta lyhensin ja laitoin takaisin kiinni. Hyvin toimi

JALUSTIMEN LAITTO

Nämä jarrut olki sitte vähä vaikiammat. Tässähän oli vääränlainen etupää ja rengas että mikään jarru tuohon ois passannu.
Porasin sitte reiät haarukkaan ja prikkoihin tein säädöt jarrujen jousille ja hitsasin kiinni.

JARRUJEN LAITTO

Ehkä tämä pikkusen lähti lapasesta. Ois ollu helpompi vaan vaihtaa koko etupää 😆
Tankoonki piti laittaa jatkopala ku kahvaa ei saanu mitenkää järkevästi, niin että ois voinu jarrua painaa.

KAHVAN LISÄYS

Nyt oli jarrut. Eihän ne kovin hyvät oo ku rengas on nii vino että palat ei ota täysin renkaaseen, mutta ompa jonkinlaiset.

Jätin tuon penkin paikan ihan tarkoituksella, ku arvasin että poitsu siihen jokupäivä varmaan penkkiäki haluaa... mutta eihän se ehtiny ees haluta ku ajattelin laittaa sen heti paikalleen.
Pitihän sitä vähän modata ku kulmat muuttu, mutta hyvä siitä tuli 😆

PENKIN MODAUS

Tuo hitsikone on kyllä ollu maailman paras ostos ikinä. Vaikka on vanha niin se toimii 😉

Nyt se oli valmis.

KUVAT ILMAN PENKKIÄ

VALMIS

On tuo penkki vähän kaukana, mutta yltää esim alamäessä tarpeeksi hyvin että voi istua vaan kyydissä ja antaa painovoiman viedä 😅

Tällä se poitsu on nyt kulkenu koulussa. Matkaa on noin kilometri, mutta tykkää kyllä kayttää ennemmin tätä ku omaa maastopyörää 😂, eli voi sanoa että onnistunut projekti.

Pääsis nyt vaan tuon seuraavan projektin pariin, semmonen jolla vois itekki rälläillä 😉
Mullahan oli talvella tarkotus tehdä sähköinen moottorikelkka rattikelkasta, mutta aika ei vaan riittäny... mutta jospa nyt sais kesäksi sellaisen triken rakennettua.... saa nähä... kaks viikkoa ois kohta "lomaa"

DIY, KICKBIKE from old crap. English version

Had to make a bigger kickbike for my son when i watched hes kicking at the smaller kickscoot.
I had a idea and succested to my son that we should make a bigger kickbike if we can find some pars from the attic...
Ofcourse we had old bike parts and stuff saved 😉

This bike frame had already been at the project victim, and it was cutted to pieces. Wifes sister brought this from a capin, where it has been years (decate) unused  😊
I dont think these curved handlebar bikes are much anymore at the moving, so the rest will go to project as well...
I dont have to take it to dumb yet  😅

OLD BIKE FRAME

Then there was this old kick scoot that we fast fixed last summer, when it had backframe broken off.

OLD SCOOT

Then i found some old tires, that had seen the better days.
(Both were out of air, and second one had hole in it)
Using the screwdrivers to get the tire off, and then add some air to local the airleak. It easyer to lacate the leak when u sink it in the water pucket.
Wasnt subrise that the other tire leaked, it was fixed with ducktape 😆
(roughen the tire with sandpaper and glue the fill in)

When the fix is dryed, then put the outer tire on. It usually goes on with hands, but if not, you can use screwdrivers. (Make sure that the inner tire doesnt get between)

TIRE REPAIR

We tryed to dissasembly the bike with my son like it should be, from the bolts... but they didnt even move.
Bolts was so rusted and stck that i had to use force 😂
Anglegrinder to use and cutted the bolts and bike to pieces..

CUTTING THE BIKE

Then i had to reinforce the frame, that it wont break so easily. From the cutted bench part, i welded the reinforcement in front of the back tire, and left the option for bench... If my son wants bench for it, its easyer to but in (Usually he does in few days  😆 )

REINFORCEMENT WELD

Had to paint it, and found some black paint from my storage
I didnt sand it much, because this was fast project 😅

PAINTING

From old scoot i got the leg holder... just had o cut it a bit

FOOT HOLDER

I attached this at the frame with holeiron and some bolts.

ATTACHING THE LEG HOLDER

I used some old scooter handles for the bar (Had to add some ducktape for the right one because the throttle case is much bigger hole)

I got to this far before the hours ended for the day. Brakes, fenders, and kickstand was not assembyed yet... Fast project... right  😅

KICKBIKE (UNFINISHED)

Son went to school with this for a week..

TESTING

One day i knowtised that he had flat front tire.
I tryed to fill it with some air, but it just popped for good.
It was time to go to store...

Found a new front tire at the warehouse, that had better outer tire.
This inner tube doesnt cost much, about 3€, So its pointles to repair these anymore.
Usually i just dont have any time to go to store, so thats why i repair these 😉

Next weekend i chanced the tires and added some fenders. Had these old fender parts that i cutted to fit this bike.

NEW TIRE AND FENDER

I shorten the old kickstand and attached to this bike. Worked perfectly

KICKSTAND ASSEMBLY

These breaks was a bit harder. This bike had differen sort of front end and tire. Any of my breaks wouldnt fit to this so i had to make the brackets for it.

I drilled holes to front end and make some adjustment holes to washers. Welded these solid to the frame.

BREAK ASSEMBLY

This got "little" out of hand. It would of been easyer to chance the whole front end  😆
I also had to make place for the brake lever. Couldnt get it to any other way, so that it would work.

ADDING THE BRAKE HANDLEBAR

Now it had breaks. Its not very effective because the tire is so crocked, but it has breaks .

Now i added the bench, before my son even asked for it.
It had to be cutted and welded to get the angles right, but it came out good 😆

BENCH MODIFICATION

My welding machine has been the best buy ever. Even if its old, but it works great  😉

Now it was done.

DONE

The bench is a bit too far for my son, but he just reaches it so he can cruise down the hills with no efford 😅

This has been in use more that hes regular bike. He goes to school and every place with this. I could say its very succesfull project 😂

I´m just hoping to have some time to start the project that im wanting to do, a thing that i can drive myself 😉
I had an idea for winter to make snowmobile out of kids sledge, but didnt have time for that... I try to even start the trike that i+ve wanted to do... will see... i have 2 week "vacation" now
