Vaimohan bongas tuolta facebookin roskalavalta tuommosen Mini BMX pyörän pojalle.
Tämähän oli meleko romu ja osia puuttu... Oli näytetty "vähän" vasaraa ja varmaan oli kumit tahalleen puhkottu, ku reiät oli samanlaisia 😔
Eikä nuilla revenneillä päälykumeillakaan mitään teheny.

Parikertaa huokasin syvään jo siinävaiheessa ku tämän näin, ja vielä pari syvempää huokasua ku aloin katteleen tarkemmin 🙄

Meinasin jo sanoa pojalle ettei sitä pysty korjaamaan, ja osat maksais jo nii paljo että sais uuden ostettua.
Aika kalliita nämä mini BMXät. 200-4000€ 👀
Poitsuha o tämmöstä joskus kinunnu nii en sitte tohtinu sanua ettei saakkaan...
Yritin katella osia netistä, mutta ne tosiaan oli nii kalliita että ois uponnu ainakin se 100e.
Löysin alkuperäsen myyntikuvan ja tämä oli se halvin malli, n 200€

Mietin kyllä montaaki vaihtoehtoa että miten tämän sais toimimaan ja tein sitten kauppalistan.

-kierretanko (akseliksi)
-pitkät mutterit (laakereiden pidikkeiksi)
-kottikärryn renkaat (vain päälykumet)
-maalit (neo, metalli musta)
-tupit ja polkimet
... No ei se tämäkään niin halvaksi tullu.
Noin 70€

OSIA

Käytiin sitten tuolla hallilla tekemässä isommat korjaukset suoristukset ja leikkaukset

Tämä etuhammasratashan piti suoristaa lämmön kanssa.
Polttoleikkaus pilleillä punahehkuun ja takomaan.
Poitsu kuvas näitä hommia ku itellä ei riittäny kädet. En tiiä näkikö tai kuuliko se edes mitään ku oli tuollaiset polttoleikkaus lasit päässä ja kuulokkeet korvilla 😆

Saatiin lopulta hammasratas suoraksi.

HAMMASRATTAAN SUORISTUS

Sitten osien isompi hionta teräslanka laikalla.

HIONTA

Sittenhän oli nuiden renkaiden testaus.
Nämä kärrynrenkaat oli pikkusen isommat. Alkuperäset oli jotain 3,5 ja nämä oli 4,0...

Purku, sisärenkaan testaus (reikä löyty) ja renkaan koitto haarukkaan.

Reikähän siinä oli, mutta piti kokeilla tuolla isommalla ulkokumilla.

Tähän etuhaarukkaan meni hyvinkin, mutta takahaarukka saattoi tuottaa vaikeuksia, oli melko ahdas.

Sitten akselin leikkaus kierretangosta. Tästä tein vähän pidemmän, minkä syy tulee myöhemmin.
(Pitäkää mutteri tankossa että saatte kierteet oikenemaan leikkauksen jälkeen)

Tähän piti myös tehdä tuollaiset laakeripidikkeet jotka puuttu kokonaan, ja ne hioin näistä pitkistä muttereista.

No oli ne melkeen samanlaiset 😄

Poitsuha oli tässävaiheessa jo kyllästyny ja lähti katteleen koneita... Kävi istuskelleenki parissa 😆

Leikkasin myös tuollaista isompaa putkea, josta oli tarkoitus tehdä sellaiset jalkatapit mitä näissä temppupyörissä ruukaa olla.

Kotona sitten alotettiin korjaamalla nuo sisuskumit
Purku, kumin hionta, liima, paikka ja pinon alle kuivumaan

Pikkusen tämä epäilytti koska sisukumi oli vähän pienempi. En uskonut että paikka pitäis, ku kumi joutuu venymään niin paljo... Tuli kyllä kumin venymisestä jottai muuta mieleen, mutta annetaampa sen olla 😆
Kumpikin rengas piti paikata. Samanlainen reikä kummassakin... Oli taiettu vähä linkkaria näyttää kumeille 😄

Sitten vielä hienompi hionta että päästiin maalaamaan.

Ensin pohjamaali (harmaa) kaikkiin osiin.

Runko, tangon rauta ja renkaiden keskiöt tuli tuolla neon keltaisella.

Just ja just riitti yksi purkki neon maalia.
Sitten mullahan oli punaista maalia eli tästähän tulisi semmoinen vaihtovärinen 😆
Tanko, rungosta osa ja toinen renkaan keskiö punaiseksi.
Vanteet metallinhohto mustiksi ja punaisiksi (tässä tuli pikku virhe)
Maalasin vahingossa venttiilireijillä olevat vanteet saman värisiksi, eli pyörä tulisi näyttämään eriltä toiselta puolen... Ei haittaa
Minulla ei riittänyt tila autotallissa roikuttaa näitä osia, eli ei muutako kirsikkapuuhun roikkumaan....

Hups, sehän värjäyty neoksi tuo punainen koristekate 🤣... Ei yhtään hyvä 🤣

Nyt ajattelin sitten maalata tuon rungon sillain häivyttämällä, eli mustaa takaperään ja punaista eteen.

Hyvähän siitä tuli 😉

Sitten lopuksi kaikkiin osiin metallihohtoinen lakka.

Annettiin osien kuivua rauhassa ja sitten alettiin kokoamaan pyörää.

Uudet rasvat kaikkiin laakereihin ja kokoon... Hyvin meni siihen asti kun päästiin takarenkaaseen...
Eihän se mahtunut kun laitoin akselin paikalleen ja renkaan haarukkaan...
Aivan liian paksu rengas ja runkoon taotut lommot otti renkaaseen kiinni, akseli ei yltänyt takahaarukkaan kunnolla ku rengas oli jo kiinni rungossa 😔 Mietin jo että laitan tuon resun renkaan takas ja katotaan kauanko se kestää....

Tuota lommoa en suoristellut koska ois ollu liian iso töinen...
Ei auttanu muutako jatkaa takahaarukkaa parisenttiä.
Tein tuollaisista isoista prikoista haarukkamaiset ja hitsasin takahaarukkaan... Pikkusen maali kärsi kuumuudesta, mutta nyt rengas mahtu paikalleen.  Ja maalia päälle

Sitten tulikin seuraava ongelma. Tämähän oli siis leveämpi rengas ja kun ketjuja koitin paikalleen niin sehän ottikin renkaaseen kiinni...

Jouduin Purkamaan polkimet ja takarenkaan uudestaan ja vähän laittaan prikkaa polkimien runkoon ja takahammasrattaan väliin että hammasrattaat oli linjassa eikä ottanut renkaaseen

Sitten piti tehdä sopivat ketjut.
Mittaus, katkaisu ja liittäminen näillä ketju liittimillä.

Nyt sitten päästiin tähän taka-akseliin ja miksi jätin sen pidemmäksi.
Leikkasin aiemmin tuollaisia putkia 4 kappaletta joista ajattelin tehdä sellaiset jalkatapit mitä näissä ruukaa olla.
Pitkät mutterit putken sisään (hitsaamalla)
Mitään kumeja mulla ei ollut nuihin tappejen päihin niin laitoin sitten silikonia. Käytin silikonin tasoittamiseen tuota öljyä ku en jaksanu lähtä hakemaan fairy vettä (ei tartu sormiin)

Ja sitten pyörittelin ne akseleiden päähän... Etuakselin jouduin hitsaamaan, mutta taakse sai pyörittelemällä paikalleen... Tai no, putkipihtien avulla 😄... Tätä eturengastahan ei enää pureta, IKINÄ 😅
Lopuksi vielä tartuntateipit tappeihin, ettei jalka lipeä kun temppuilee.

Nämä tapitha o vähä huonot jos ei ossaa varoa jalkoja. nopiaa tökkää tuoho kantapäähän jos ei muista että ne on takanakin

Sellainen projekti siitä sitten kehkeyty... Aika kova homma oli, mutta tulipa tehtyä 😄

My wife found this Mini BMX bike for our son, from facebook trash group.
Someone had shown some hammer to it and it was missing lots of parts. Tires was slashed because the holes was matching 😔
And those uoter tires was trashed too.

I sighted few times when i saw this bike, and sighted few more times when i started to look it closer 🙄

I almous told my son that this bike was not fixable, because the parts would cost more than a new bike.
These BMX mini bikes are pretty expensive. 200-4000€  👀
My son has wanted one of these for a while, so i vould not say he wont get this one...
I tryed to look the parts on internet, but they would cost about 100€ minumum to get this eve to drive.
I found the original picture of this from the internet. This was the cheap model, about 200€

MINI BMX

I thought of few tricks how to make this work, and made some list for parts.

-Threaded rod (for axle)
-Long nuts (For bearing holders)
-Wheelbarrow tires (only outer ones)
-Paint (Prmer Gray, Neon yellow, metallic black)
-Handle rubbers and pedals
... These cost about 70€

Parts

We went to my workplace to do the bigger fixes. Straighten and cutting.

Needed to bend this front gearwheel straight with heat.
with flamecutter to red glow and some hammering.
My son filmed these repairs, but i dont know if he even see or heard anything because he had those flamecutting glasses on and some earprotections on 😆

Finally got the gearwheel straghten.

Then the cleaning of the parts with steelwire disc

Then there was the tire exchance.
These wheelbarrow wheels was a bit bigger. Original was 3,5 and these were 4,0"

Demolition of the wheel, innerwheel test and testing the fit for axle.

There was a hole, but still needed to test whit this bigger tire.

TEST

It fitted for this front axle, but the rear might cause some proplem, it was pretty tight.

Then i neede to make the back axle from threaded rod. I left it a bit longer, and the cause will clear later.
(Always have the nut in the rod so you can rotate the thread out)

It also needed these bearing holders that was missing totally. I made them from these longer nuts.

Son was already bored so he went and check out some machines... And did sit at few of them 😆

TESTING SOME MACHINES

I also cut some bigger pipes to make the legholders for the tires, that these bikes usually have.

LEGHOLDER MAKING

When we got home we started to fix these inner rubbers.
Demolition, sand the rubber, glue, patch and let it dry under some weight.

RUBBER FIXING

I had some conserns about this patch. The inner tire was a bit smaller and would have to stretch so much that the patch might not hold... Theres some stories about the rubber expanding, but i let those stories be  😆
There was same sort of hole in the another tire... i think someone showed some knife for these tires😄

Then i sanded these parts some more, so we could get the paint on.

SANDING

First some primer (Gray) to all parts.

PRIMER

Frame, handlebar holder and tire centers came with this neon paint.

NEON PAINT

Barely one can of neon pait was enough.
Then i had some red paint, so i thought i make this bike swap color. 😆
Handlebar, part of the frame and wheel center to red.
Hoops to metallic black and red (Here i made a mistake)
I accidentaly painted the both hoops that had the valve part, to same color.
Bike would look different fron each side... didnt really bother my son

I didnt have enough room to hang thee parts at my carage, so i used the cherry tree...

HANG SPOT

Oh no, That bark cover painted neon 🤣... Not good 🤣

Now i thought i paint this frame like faiding the paint. Black to rear end and red to front

It came out good 😉

DIY TREE

Finally i covered the parts with metallic varnish

I let the parts dry well before starting to assembly the bike.

New vaseline to all bearings and assembly... It went good to the part when we got to back tire...
It didnt fit when i put the axle in place and tryed to get it attached.
The tire was way too thick. The frame dent touched the tire and the frame was too sort for the attachment at the axle 😔 I almous cave up and thought to put on the old tire... i wondered how long it would last.

TIRE AND AXLE

I didnt fix that dent, because it would took too long to fix.
I thought i will extend the back fork a bit.
I made the extensions from these washers and welded them in... The paint took some hit, but i sanded a bit and painted over.

Then tere was next problem. The tire was wider so the chain touched it when i tested...

CHAIN TEST

I had to disembly the pedals and back tire again to put in some washers to get the gears away from tire.

WASHERS TO OVE THE GEAR

Then i made a fitting chain.
Measurement, cut and attachment with these chain attachments.

CHAIN

Now we got to this back axle, and why i left it longer.
I cut earlyer these pipes that i thought of making the footholders that these trick bikes usually have.
Long nuts in to the pipe (Welded)
I didnt have any rubber plugs, so i used silicone and smoothen it with oil on my finger, so it wont attach anywhere else.

FOOTHOLDERS.

And then i rotated them in to the axles. With phlyers ofcourse.. I had to weld some extension from threaded rod to make these hold.... This front axle cant be demoed anymore... EVER 😅

Finaly i covered the footholders with some sandpaper to make it grip your foot when doing some tricks.

FOOTHOLDERS

These arent so usufull if you dont remember that they are there. They will make some cuts if they hit your feet when kicking the speed.

Few sticker to the frame too.
